It is sturdy, I thought. It's real lightweight though. Take your pick I guess. It rolls like the dyson ball vacuums too so that tilting motion might make it look unsteady but it's quite impressive.

Simple solution to plowing cheerios, tilt the vacuum back slightly to lift up the front to create more space for the cheerios to be sucked up. Not what I would call a deal breaker. Had to do that with every vacuum I have ever used in my life. Guess I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me.

Kirbys weren't in our budget so I got the most bang for our buck. Looking forward to not needing to use 2 vacuums to get the house clean.

Love my Dyson Ball...

Kirby's are awesome too.

I've had mine for a while now and had no problems. As far as it being sturdy, every time my wife or I vacuum, the vacuum is attacked viciously by a Great Dane and a bulldog. No damage done as of yet.

I have a dinosaur of a Kirby. Had it for years. It was expesnive but very worth it, and still going strong.

I was considering a Dyson, but my Kirby is still going strong.

We have always found the $49 models work just fine, have to change a belt once in a blue moon, but when they really break, just chuck it out on the curb on trash day. Use about one a year...lol..

^ That too.

That's what we have now. The $49 bissell. It doesn't even deserve to be called a vacuum. Can't wait to go all Office Space on it.
