On Friday, 26 Aug, at 4 p.m., Cherry Point will open two emergency shelters -- the Cherry Tree House, located on 4th Avenue, and the Marine Dome gymnasium. The Marine Dome will be a pet-friendly shelter.

Personnel using the shelters must bring their own food, water, medications, bedding and any other necessities they might personally require for an extended stay.

Pets kept at the Marine Dome must be in cages or kennels, must have animal ID, vaccination records, and must have all needed supplies such as food, water, bedding, poop-scoops and toys. They will not be allowed from their cages except on a leash for bathroom breaks.
