12 hours in the fridge, 24 hours in a regular freezer and 48 hours in a deep freezer.

If you have USAA, both home owners and renters, they offer a food replacement program with no deductible.

As of 11am this morning our freezer was still good. The ice ream wasn't melted at all, meat rock solid, water bottles still 100% frozen. The boxed items were still frozen, but showing signs of thawing. But my freezer was packed 100% couldn't fit another thing in it.

Fridge was still.chilled, but temp was def not at norm, but condiments butter sour cream is pretty much all we had in it.

I decided as soon as the power comes on is when I will acess the real damage and until then if I need or want something I will make a judgment call.

I believe we have state farm- but my freezer had alot of meat in it :( boooo

My husband claims he's only opened it once but I'm not there so I can't vouch for that but it's been 35 hours since the electricity went out!

My fridge is kinda old (probably about 10yrs old) and I've had the generator on twice now.

Lunch meat is starting to turn due to not remaining cold cold. :-(

You'll know if your meat is okay or not. Worse case scenerio if it thaws out you could cook it all then refreeze.
