huskymomof2 is now happymomof2 due to me having to place my huskies with lela due to a mean land lord. anyone want foster either of them should contact lela..

Ja Ja Jacky (Mod) --- 14 years ago -

A landlord who agreed to pets cannot go back on his word... an agreement within the lease protects you. Get your dogs back.

Little Miss Knowitall --- 14 years ago -

HOLY Carp!

First preggo cats, now own pets...

What's next? The Kids? The Hubster?

SMH

No, her landlord gave her a 30 day notice to vacate when she complained about needing a repair. The new place only allows one breathing pet (be it fish, hamster, cat or dog).

Cats are becoming like cockroaches. I think they should all be spayed or neutered. I like my cat but got him fixed.

With all the rentals out there, I'm sure a place could have been found, within the time constraints, to have all the pets (not necessarily the rescued cats).

Gggrrr... It's really annoying that people get pets without thinking about future residences.

VanishingAct --- 14 years ago -

Well hopefully she thinks more wisely when judging others then who end up in situations where they can't find/afford a place that allows for multiple pets or type of pets and needs to rehome.

Who has a none breathing pet :/

Lovebug3 --- 14 years ago -

Or I should say WHAT is a none breathing pet?

champatlife --- 14 years ago -

Pet rock

Lovebug3 --- 14 years ago -

Pet rock

But would the landlord really have to say "you can have as many pet rocks as you want but only one breathing pet." I mean it just seems kind of pointless to add the "breathing" part. lol

Vicky (Mod) --- 14 years ago -

They just meant it as..... A fish counts. So if you have a fish, you can't have a dog too....

If it breathes it counts.

VanishingAct --- 14 years ago -

Wow so if you have a fish tank you can only have one fish in there?! 2 fish don't take up any more room! ;)

hey deb want my kids lol...i have a no return policy on them lol.. if you can find me a 4 bedroom house under 900 a month that accepts 2 siberian huskies id be happy to call them now since i signed me lease already i thought it would be responsible of me to NOT take my dogs to a pound and give them to the one person i trust the most with my babies..trust me it wasnt an easy choice..

and NCN i have never put anyone down for needing to rehome a pet due to circumstances however its the ones that take them to the pound and not find them great homes that bothers me and the ones that SELL their dogs for profit. i for one understand extenuating circumstances as did lela..if i had another option i would have taken it but i didnt..

I don't care what anyone says. You do what's best for your family and kids, your pets come second. Anyone who treats their animals equal to their children is crazy. I love my pets but the welfare of my child comes before them. If I had to get rid of them to be able to provide a roof over my child's head then you can bet they are going to a shelter.

Little Miss Knowitall --- 14 years ago -

Like I said, you should have thought about taking on the responsibility of a pet and future living arrangements.

I hear base housing allows 2 pets.
Get on the list and get your babies back.

You NEED 4 bedrooms? How many children do you have?

Lovebug3 --- 14 years ago -

Shelter wouldn't be my first option either. I would rather give away my pet to a good home. I'm just sick of people saying their animal is their baby- animals are not children. My dog is my pet- not my sons sister.

That's fine, but you're not associated with a rescue.

GroomingMyWay --- 14 years ago -

deb hard times fall on everyone now and then those of us associated with a rescue are not immune. yes i did look for other places yes (not that it matters) i need a 4 bedroom because my sisters live with me. the fact that i gave my dogs to lela doesnt mean i work less or care less about my rescue work nor does it mean that im a bad person..i did the RESPONSIBLE thing and placed my dogs in the BEST possible place for them..it killed me to see my pups go i love them a lot and will always. however my family needed a place to go and my homeowner unfortunately doesnt want dogs over 20 lbs and we are only allowed one dog. judge me how you will i dont care i know i did the best thing..and if you were wondering i found a GREAT loving home for the cats we had all 4 went to the same home a nice lady willing to take them even though 3 were preg.again i did the RESPONSIBLE thing and didnt take them to the pound or leave them behind like some people do..

VanishingAct --- 14 years ago -

I whole heartedly believe in doing best for your family first but I have seen time and time again where people who rehome their dogs for the EXACT reasons (not planning their living situations around their pets) getting attacked for it.

I don't agree with people selling their dogs for profit but some people charge adoption prices to ensure their pet goes to a home willing to make the financial investment in a dog and also because if they were any kind of good pet owner they have put money into the dog.. be it shots, training, getting them fixed.. etc. So if someone honestly isn't willing to pay a $100 adoption fee for a dog who is fully vetted, and fixed then they are someone who shouldn't be looking into taking in a dog anyways. Rescues advise you NOT to give a dog away FREE to good home for that reason.

EDIT
F*ck it. I just don't . . . care enough to argue here anymore.

Ja Ja Jacky (Mod) --- 14 years ago -

Boooo!!!! WTH Noel - I logged in, saw your name was the last one to post, came in to read what you had to say and you had deleted it. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

I'm just sick of people saying their animal is their baby- animals are not children.

My dogs ARE my children. The horses too. Because why everyone? Lela doesn't like children. Lela doesn't want children. Therefore, if my pets are my children and my family, I am allowed to say that they are, treat then like they are etc. And if that bothers anyone... well... p*ss off. *shrugs* How difficult is that?

Anyone who treats their animals equal to their children is crazy.

Then I guess I'm crazy. Thanks for the shout out.

I'm tired of it too. All of it.
