I am looking for a 3 bdrm rental..The price has to be between 600 and 700..700 is really pushing it..I have 2 small children and a fiancee..We are needing to move because or current landlord doesnt fix anything..It is starting to be hazardous to our family..Please help us if you can!!

Little Miss Knowitall --- 13 years ago -

Good Luck finding a good one in a good area at that price.

Mrs Zim --- 13 years ago -

Yeah, what Deb said.

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

Well thats all we can afford..

Mrs Zim --- 13 years ago -

You 'might' be able to find a 2 bedroom for that...

VanishingAct --- 13 years ago -

Most likely for those prices you will be finding a place where you will have the same kind of landlord in a not so great area. Can't your kids share a room? You have 2 small children? Or even have one child share a room with you or give the kids each a room and then you guys take the living room? If you want a place in a better neighborhood for that price you will probably need to go 2 bedroom.

I have 2 children..One that is a boy and one is a girl..I dont want them to share a room..The place I am in now is a 3 bedroom that is 575..It is very nice..The landlord recently stopped doing repairs..

VanishingAct --- 13 years ago -

They can share a room up to a certain age..but I understand.. My kids wouldn't be able to share a room because one sleeps good and the other doesn't but if I needed immediate and was on a tight budget I would still go for a 2 bedroom and like I said.. give the kids each a room and then you take the living room. Put a pull out couch in the living room or your bed in there. People do it all the time.

If it's really nice then just stick it out and try to work with the landlord.. What kind of repairs need to be made that is causing you to move asap?

VanishingAct --- 13 years ago -

I don't know of any 3 bedrooms in NICE neighborhoods (not ones that I would want to live with children in) that you can get that kind of rent.

I lived on shipman when I first moved to NC.. I was very naive to what normal rent was here for what because I was told by SOOOO many people how cheap NC is .. So I was under the impression that a 2 bedroom apartment for $550 a month would be a reasonable area. I lived in a good area in MI in a 2 bedroom apartment and my rent was $615 a month.

I had a really rude awakening a couple months after moving in. It was certainly not an area that I wanted to have children in. Thankfully my husband deployed and we could break lease.

There is a leak under the kitchen sink and it is starting to produce "black" mold..I was told that inhaling that could be dangerous..The whole cabinet under the sink is going to have to be replaced since it is rotting..I will talk with my fiancee about moving to a 2 bdrm but I dont know..

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

I can understand that rmof 2..I wish that finding something half way decent to rent around here would be cheaper..The only nice homes are renting for 1000 and up..lol..

VanishingAct --- 13 years ago -

That sucks..but for a temporary fix while working things out you don't have to get sick.. keep it very clean and as dry as possible (cleaning it multiple times a day if need be). Does your landlord have a property manager or are you directly dealing with the landlord? Do you have a lease agreement? You would need to look into how to get out of your lease instead of just walking away from it or it will be hard to rent somewhere else.

Our lease is up in October..We are renting from a direct owner..We both work most of the day so drying multiple times through out the day would be impossible..I would hate the idea of coming home from work everyday just to clean up water..lol

Ja Ja Jacky (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

You have a 3 bedroom house for $575... in Havelock? Or a mobile home? Or not in Havelock?

I've never seen one so cheap in Havelock - not even in the ghetto hood.

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

I stay in a duplex in Newport..In a wonderful neighborhood..

Ja Ja Jacky (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

Oh. Okay. Well hey, when you find another house, let me know. I'll rent yours from your landlord.

Not kidding, btw.

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

Okay..you can have it..

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

Same here. You can't get that cheap in Havelock, unless you know someone or know someone who knows someone.

bleach the area really well allow to dry and use KILZ on it will get rid of the black mold..we use a bowl under ours since it leaks like a mother..it keeps my cabinet dry you could try that until your lease is up..good luck finding a rental.

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

That is exactly right..

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

Thanks a bunch..I need the luck and will continue my search without giving up..I kinda have no choice.lol

Allen --- 13 years ago -

For that price, fix the sink and see if he will reimburse you later. My friend can repair it pm me if you want to. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

I'll trade homes...mine is killing me!

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

We asked him if we could repair it and just take it out of the rent..They said that we would be 100% responsible..I am not spending money on repairs for them to move in the next person..and plus I shouldnt be responsible for fixing there problem..

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

What all is wrong?

chantel01 --- 13 years ago -

The kitchen sink is leaking and it is causing mold to form under the sink..The water is also causing it to rot..The whole cabinet is going to have to be replaced and most of the, the sink has to be fixed..

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

So it is just the sink that needs fixing? Where does your fiancee work?

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

Where is it leakin? The pipe or the fixture or the sink?
