Does anybody know what the max is on the number of credit hours we can take a semester (summer also)?

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

I don't think there is a max I took 18 one semester. They love money. But they don't recommend taking a lot...they try to advoid drops,e tc..

Allen --- 13 years ago -

They were gonna let me do 21. 12 is full time. They said allow 2 hours of study per semester hour. I have 17 hours,so it would take on average 34 hours of study for me, per week, assuming I was average. Be careful if you have a job .

Sounds wrong. But I may be wrong. My BIO class...I needed at least 12 hours per week to study and class time. So 4 credit class = 12 hours a week.... More like 84...but who knows...It depends on how involved the classes are

Allen --- 13 years ago -

Geniuses like you and I require just two per, darling. BOOM, who the heck can study 84 hours per week? We aren't going to learn Rocket Science at Craven. I hope we are in class together.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

Maybe that is for dumbazzes...and that we are not. lol

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 13 years ago -

To answer that question....not me. Unless I'm not working. But it is do-able if you don't work.

Allen --- 13 years ago -

You are correct that Biology requires a lot of work, that is why 2 hours is average, for all your classes.

I took bio online thru Craven, also Micro seated and Enviro Bio online. Um the Bio class I took was hard but I didn't study hardly and still got a B+. It was a pain in the rear because of the dumb "at home" lab shiz. 12+ hours of studying? Pshh no.

I most I ever took at once was 17 credits thru Craven. It wasn't hard but then again most of those classes were electives and easy peasy. I wouldn't consider over loading like that if you are taking harder courses.

eng 114
psy 150
hea 110
ped 110
rel 110
bus 110

Shouldn't be that bad of a semester, cept for bus 110, never took that one.

Chelle --- 13 years ago -

Rel 110 was extremely easy, psy 150 was the easiest class I've ever had, but our instructor was very laid back so that had a lot to do with it. Hea 110 was also very easy.....those classes should all be pretty easy.

I took Psy 150, and Health 110 this summer. If you take psy seated, its a cake course. You watch a movie for 30 mins, take notes for 30-45, have a 15-20 min break, then work on a worksheet. There are only 3 tests, and they are not cumulative, so it's on what you just studied.
I will be taking Eng 114 next semester.
I'm just hoping to get through this semester without having this baby. I'm due 3 days before semester end.

I liked my small business class...easy peasy...just use your common sense.

What is rel? Religions?

~*MarLa Singer*~ --- 13 years ago -

HisBaby how long ago did you take the Psy there?

Now Craven has a rule about cumulative assessments. They are required and can be administered in the form of tests, presentations, or papers.

For example, for Micro mine was a powerpoint presentation and for biology it was a huge craptastic lab paper.

Allen --- 13 years ago -

Thanks to all. Great info. REL and PED are online.

HisBaby --- 13 years ago -

Marla, sorry, just saw this. I took it this Summer. Yea, that is the case. He gave us a worksheet to complete. That way he could still administer the tests non-cumulative. (Is that even a word :) haha)
