I asked this on the other forum, but will ask here too, because I really don't know what to buy.

My hubby signed up for a father-daughter dance. Which I think is adorable, but need some help with what my Daughter should wear.

The information I have says that Hubby has to wear his Dress blue "B" whites, so that's about as formal as it gets for the dads. Should I put her in some crazy pageant-like dress?

I need to find out soon, so I can buy something online if needed.

Think fancy Easter dress for little ones 3-5.

Where do you think I could find one what was not in pastels? It's in the fall so bolder colors would probably work well.

Thanks :)

While kinda pretty, isn't this a bit much for a child?

You aren't stateside, are you?

I would say JC Penney or Sears for catalog orders, if they ship to APO/FPO.

Fancy holiday dresses would work too. What month? The Holiday dresses should be coming out in another month or so.

For an 11-15 yr old, I would say okay, for a girl under 11, I would say over the top.

I am liking something like this. Do you think that would work?

That velvet stuff makes me cringe.

The white one is cute. Maybe they have something similar in blue (E's favorite color)

Yes I am overseas that's why I am looking now, the dance is in October.

When my daughter went the the Father Daughter dance I ordered her dress and shoes from Sophia's style boutique. They have a lot of pretty formal dresses that are reasonably priced.

Here is her favorite so far. BTW she is so excited to look at fancy dresses :) She is already talking about shoes and a matching purse :)

With everything going on the dress search was pushed back. Well it's down to where I really have to buy the dress NOW in order to have it shipped here in time. This is our top choice so far, does it seem over-the-top?

I think it's a little "old" for a 4 yr old.

Then again, my boys wore short pants and knee socks when "dressing up" when they were little, like this:

It looks like Cinderellas Gown - but darker.

I say get it!!!!!! She'll love it!

Shannon --- 13 years ago -

Heck, do they make that in a grown up version?? It is lovely!

DaisyMae --- 13 years ago -

Yeah I was not initially sold on the dress because it is so "adult" but she really wants to be a princess. She always looks at our pictures from previous Marine Corps balls and wants to get all dressed up like we do.

champatlife --- 13 years ago -

DEB!... ooers, I want a little boy now. That style is so cute.

and I say get that dress. Ella will feel like a beautiful princess, and T will be her prince :)
