Is it really as bad as everyone says? Were about to move into a house that has new bern electricity and im nervous! They told me the hight was 350 and lowest 180. Im really not too sure what would be considered high, but i do know i would hate to have a 350 dollar bill!
:( I havent signed a lease yet, we just really like the house. The other houses we saw really didnt fit our needs or we too much on rent. Do you think it would be ok if we just unplug everything and use fans instead of AC? haha
Do you know .$$ per kilowatt, and the electric company told you the highest in that house was $180-$350 or someone else? If it wasn't the electric company I would call them and ask the average for the addy you're looking at.
You can call the electric company and ask for the averages over the last year or so. And ask leasing company how many residents occupied home before you. Gets an idea of how much more or less you may use.
I do not have school age kids yet. I called the electric company and they told me it was between 180-350. higher in the summer, lower in the winter. And I think I will start using candles and flash lights! ;) haha.
And boom, I want as much advice as I can, is that ok? Or am I only allowed to ask a question on one web forum? Just like to know the rules before I break them again.
Those of us who make our home here on a permanent basis have very reliable information when it comes to homes/preferred locations/electric companies/schools/tradesmen (plumber, electrician, etc.)/schools, so on and so forth.
I told you at least a week ago to stay away from any home that had New Bern Electric.
Did you listen? No, you came back here today to ask if it is really as bad as everyone says.
Im sorry if i offended you deb. My irritation was at Boom. I dont feel I should have to only ask one forum a question, especially if I dont know if anyone would respond. Plus a lot people have different opinions.
Another thing, you never told me anything about New Bern Electric, all i remember from you is trying to look through strictly rentals and about the neighborhood in carolina pines. So In my mind I didnt get the same answer today, its a brand new answer... since ive never been told other wise.
I asked about the electricity and if its as bad as everyone says because i have heard bad things and high electricity, but then ive heard about low bills around 200 dollars a month. So again, I am sorry if i have upset you in anyway, it was not my intentions.
Well if the electric company said those numbers than it's pretty accurate, and unless the rent is super cheap, there is no way I'd want to pay close to that amount in electric costs personally. I think $180 is super high for winter months! which means you really are looking at a very steep bill during the summer, and summer starts in NC in what? April and doesn't cool down til October so you know you'd at least have a $265 average.
