Care to critique? I've filling and unfilling carts on various websites for days, and this is what I have come up with so far.

Okay here is my mock cart full of items- critique.
(from 2 different sites)

24 gmd newborn prefolds
1-grovia AIO newborn
4- little joey AIO rumparoos
2- Swaddlebees capri diaper cover newborn
2-rumparoos diaper covers newborn
1- bummis super brite diaper cover newborn
2-bummis super whisper wraps
1-thirsties duo AIO sz1
3- grovia AIO one size
4- swaddlebees simplex AIO One size
2- mommys touch one size covers

(I probably need more, but not certain what to focus on. Probably some fitted, I just have to find the ones want.-the one size are really more for my little (23 mnth old- to start out cloth diapering too- that and she was born 8lb 12 oz, so a little worried this one might be a little on the bigger side too.)

Champ, when are you due?

Champ --- 12 years ago -

somewhere between sept 10 and 19th (depending on which doctor you ask, that I've seen.)

Probably be induced 2 weeks early (I go tomorrow for more confirmation of what they want to do and an ultrasound. yay.)

While I have used cloth on 3, I only did one as a newborn, the 2nd. I skipped it with the last because hubby was deployed and we moved right after he got home. I would buy newborn stuff used, unless you find a great sale. They grow out of it so quick!
With the one I did CD from birth, I had I want to say 15 fitteds, a dozen prefolds and 4 covers. Then I had small fuzzi Bunz that she was into in about a month. I do love a tiny fluffy booty though!
What are your thoughts on pockets? I prefer them because they are easy IMO. AIO and fitteds take forever to dry. I use prefolds when I am home to change about every 2ish hours or when I'm going to be changing soon to leave, kwim.
Right now we use mostly sunbaby diapers, super cheap, cute and true workhorses! I also have some BGOS that I bought with number 2, fuzzi Bunz and happy heiny that I bought with either the first I CD'd or 2nd, I can't remember.
For covers, I like the thirties brand, they have leg gussets that hold explosive BF poo in. I know you are on the fence about BF this time though. I bought mine from Amazon using swagbucks points.
Did this help at all? Have you used cloth before or just contemplating it this time around? Here there is a local CD group on FB, check your area for one. I really reccomend buying a little of everything until you figure out what you like and what works the best for you. Have you checked out clothdiapernation? I don't go to diaper swappers because of the rampant viruses people keep getting.
And for detergent, I reccomend plain Tide, do not believe the hype that you have to have special cloth detergent, I tried a lot of those and they did not work. I've used some of the same diapers for 6 years so Tide can't be the devil lol.

I'm in a FB group that co-ops diapers and has an Alva newborn one open right now if you want to check it out. Diaper co-op

This will be our first cloth diapering experience. I want to start on newborn because if not there's a chance I'll never switch over to cloth. Plus I figure (not with all the variety I have in my cart now, but originally when I was thinking prefolds, fitted, and covers only. I'd only have to use them for a short time to say, "okay I hate it, but I still got my money's worth.)

I have more to respond, but I'm so tired I can't even think straight currently, hahaha.

But thanks, I'll check out the sites you recommended.

Hi all, I haven't posted in FOREVER, but I am cloth diapering our 6month old. I use alvas too Jamie :)

Co-ops are the way to go if you have the time to wait. And seeing as you have a couple months left it should be right timing for you. There is actually a fb page for buying/selling/trading alvas as well sometimes you can catch mommas selling them at fairly decent prices. alva b/s/t
One of the hosts of the co-op I use put a newborn on her skinny almost 2yr old and it fit.. they fit longer than the 10lb weight they are listed as.
I started Cding my son at 2 months. so we went straight to one size alvas. I have 20 right now with about 18 more on the way (the new cartoon prints got to me :) I also have 6 fitteds 6 covers and about a dozen prefolds. I think once you get into using one size, or bigger sizes, getting a few of different kinds may be the best bet. Whats good for the goose isn't always good for the gander.
Champ, you are no longer in the ENC area if I remember correctly.. right? I was going to say if you were there was a lady who has 17 dipes of varying brands for about $150.00 on a yard sale page.
Would be a good starter stash as the majority are small/medium sizes. :)

Champ I think Diaper Junction does a trial pack of cloth so you can try different things. I know other stores do, but can't remember off the top of my head who. Might be worth checking into so you can try different styles and see what you like best.

Remember the great thing about cloth is if you don't like it, you can sell it so it's not a total loss.
