Soooo we have been trying to get pregnant since Sept of 2009. I had an appt last Friday with the fertility specialist but I didnt go because I didnt feel very well. So I took a couple preg. test. Yesturday morning, last night, and this morning.. ALL came up positive. 1st one was a cheap Dollar Tree test, and the other 2 where Walmart brand. So I went today to medical and had a blood test taken. I wont know the results of that until tomarrow. What are the chances of having 3 Positive Home Pregnancy Test and a Negative Blood Test??

I *think* that if you've had 3 pos hpt test then most likely a blood test will be positive. but I guess its possible to have a neg? idk. good luck :) 

Pregnancy test was only positive once, when I was pregnant.

Every other time it was neg...but I used the digital tests they were expensive! I probably spent hundreds of dollars on preg tests while I was trying to get pregnant lol.

With three pregnancy test being poitive the blood test should be positive too. 

Cheap Dollar Tree ones work! Trust me! It only came up positive when I was pregnant once..all others, thank the lord, were negative. 

I got one from the dollar tree too.. at first it started going funky colors so I didn't think it worked and after like 5 minutes there weren't any results so I threw it away.. I decided to go back upstairs and look again like an hour later and there was a very faint plus sign! so of course I hopped in my car and went to walmart and got 2 digital ones.. that both side pregnant!! woo.. I just went into medical the next morning and did the pee test lol it was positive too!! :) It showed up VERY early though, I thought I was 5 weeks due to LMP but later found out I was 9 days behind that... so it was like 3 almost 4 weeks when i had positive tests!! 

Welp just got a phone call! Blood test came back positive!! YAY!! I am 3 wks, 4 days.. Now were having a hardtime finding a doctor that will take me. I have had 2 c-sections, the last one was 3 yrs ago and i really want to have a VBAC... hospital after hospital has denied to see me... now we are waiting to hear back from ECU high risk obgyn..

Do you mind me what makes you high risk?? Im just curious.. I really really want a VBA2C but if ECU high risk doesnt take me.. then I have to have a c-sec at craven.. which I DO NOT WANT!! 

well I'm originally going to carteret in morehead and I LOVE it there, but the amniotic fluid around the baby had gotten really low and my cervix length keeps going up and down( been on "bed rest" for that since 18 weeks).. so they wanted to go ahead and transfer me to ECU so they can monitor things better and check out his kidneys and placenta to make sure its all ok since the fluid was low (it has gone up some since the first time they discovered it was low) and in case he is born early. 

Wanting a VBA2C doesn't make you high risk, unless there were risk factors for your c-sections. 

You probably won't be able to have a VBAC...not to rain on your parade. But there are reasons why DR's don't want to perform them. 

I know someone who was in a very similar situation and she went through a mid wife but they are very few that tri care cover, let me see what info i can get from her.. 

I wanted a V ac and they were gonna send me to ecu... But we decided to just do another c-section because driving to Greenville would be a pain, and since I have a toddler, it would be hard finding a babysitter. But yea, they send you to Greenville be ause they have an anesthesiologist at all times.

Its considered as a high risk dilivery because of the risk of rupturing the uterus.


The lady at the woman's center on base called:
Craven Woman's Clinic
Carteret Woman's Clinic
Lenior Memorial Clinic
Camp Lejeune OB
and ECU Woman's OB

and all of them said no way, against our policy, ect, ect.

So she called ECU High Risk OBGYN and they said they cant say for sure whether or not they will take me and I have to go in for a consult.. it depends on home long since my last c-sec, how my scars have healed, and if the scar on my uterus is horizontal or vertical..

I will drive there 60 times if it means that I get to experience natural birth. Drive an hour to ECU.. or 45 minutes to Craven Regional... yea I would rather have my baby in the bathtub then deliver at Craven.. so i guess imma drive the extra 15-20 minutes to ECU 

I have a friend who transferred to Greenville b/c she was VERY uncomfortable with delivering at craven. It just depends on the person I guess. I went to ECWC in new bern for my first pregnancy (miscarriage) and I hated that place! I love it at carteret but I'm actually glad I'll be going to ECU now.. yeah its along drive but I know Me and baby will be in great hands :)

it's definately not 20 minutes from craven to greenville! But you don't what you think is best!!! Just think about the what if's! And find out if they'll even deliver you! 

I don't understand what the big deal is with having a natural birth after you have a c-section.

My mom had me via c-section and my sister via vaginal. Have things really changed that much since the 90's?
