Then how come his money is in the account sometimes days before the 1st? ...BTW not EVERYONE gets paid on the 1st and 15th. There are options on how often you want to get paid. Just a future FYI.

I have a huge allotment set up so that we only get paid once, and on the 15th is just a small bonus.

Because, depending on what bank you deal with, they may or may not release the funds earlier than the day they are due to be disbursed.

Since Jan 2nd is a Federal Holiday, funds are being made available earlier.

Back in the day, if pay day was the first and if fell on weekend/holiday, then your funds WOULDN'T be available until the next BUSINESS day, meaning the next day the bank was opened.

There was even a time, when you deposited a check into your account, drawn on a different bank than your own, you would have to wait 7-10 days for the check to clear before you were able to write checks/withdraw the cash from your account.

Active duty gets paid the 1st and 15th. If you chose to set it up differently that is your issue. If you have Navy Fed Active Duty checking you can get it a few days before.
We have it, but really, we don't cry about it. If it isn't there on the 1st or the 15th then you make a fuss.

Question... I've never had any payments automatically taken out of NavyFed, so if a payment is supposed to be taken out on the 1st and 15th is it taken out those days, or when the pay hits?? 

It's taken out on the day you schedule it for with the creditor- if you schedule it for the 1st, then it comes out on the 1st.

My cell bill automatically comes out of my checking account on the day I scheduled it for, every month unless I change it.
