I hate you. I hate your crammed in houses, I hate your "lawn care" people who skip my block every F'ing time. I hate my neighbors on Alexander who just toss their loose paper into their recycle bin or near it so that when the wind blows it blows into my yard and I have to pick it up. I hate my nasty @$$ neighbors that stay up until all hours of the night opening and closing their garage, banging on the walls and their barking dogs. I hate that AMCC refuses to do anything about it even after multiple complaints over the last TWO YEARS. I hate that its cold here. F this place.

Ja Ja Jacky (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Dear Miserable person,

Move.

Signed,
Love my hood.

Nodoubts --- 12 years ago -

Sorry, there are no hill sides with banjo music in the background. I cant. I will continue to be miserable right here.

Boobsy McNicehiney --- 12 years ago -

Base housing is what it is. You have all sorts of people from all walks of life living closely together. Some are still extremely young. Not everyone has been taught manners and courtesy. Shockingly, there are tons of lazy slobs....

Fiction --- 12 years ago -

I love my neighborhood on base. I live on a street with 5 houses. I've never heard any of my neighbors make noise. I don't even know any of their names. I can see the river from my front lawn, and they never skip my house when it's time to mow. Pretty happy here.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

Wow at least you don't live in a house that makes you sick or a yard that you can't walk in. Those complaints are pretty normal no matter where you live. That's why I moved out to the boonies! I freaking love it!

Little Miss Knowitall --- 12 years ago -

I cant

You CAN, you just don't want to move.

It's easier to complain and let the gubmint take care of your housing needs
than to suck it up and be a grownup and have to actually write a check every month for rent & utilities.

It's not MCAS CP's fault you have dirtbag neighbors.

And, it's NOT cold here. Spend the winter in NY or better yet, MI or WI and then tell us it's cold here.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Boobsy McNicehiney --- 12 years ago -

Yes, you can move off base. Give them notice and move.

What she said! I am in Michigan and when people say it's too cold in NC, I just want to trade places with them for A WEEK! It's really cold here and when it rains, it's icy rain. When it snows and then rains on top of that, you don't get pretty snow to play in, you get slush that is really heavy to shovel and nothing fun to play in with the kids. NC has very mild winters and when it snows there it's exciting because it's a special treat there and everything closes down so you don't HAVE to clean off your car (if it sticks) if you don't want to (unless you have the kind of job that you doesn't get snow days).

I love this can and can't stuff. I literally couldn't with the stupid pet limitations bc of others stupidity when having pets in rented homes.

Little Miss Knowitall --- 12 years ago -

No, that's your own stupidity - just because an owner is renting THEIR home, it doesn't mean they have to allow any pets.

MANY homeowner insurance companies will cancel/not underwrite policies if certain dog breeds will reside on the premises. HOAs are also banning breeds from neighborhoods.

Boobsy McNicehiney --- 12 years ago -

What's the difference? There are pet limitations on base as well.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

My dog is a boxer. It always went over weight limit by 30-40lbs. Where I live now there were handfuls more options for renting a home. Unlike near military bases.

Little Miss Knowitall --- 12 years ago -

Unlike near military bases.

See OP, there's your answer for less options.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

I'd do the same to them. Two can play at that game. Tap a broom on the wall at all hours of the day. Play horrible rap music and put the speakers right up against the walls. Etc etc etc

Boobsy McNicehiney --- 12 years ago -

Buy a house...get rid of the dog. If base is that terrible you can find a way out. People just like to whine.

Ahhh its me --- 12 years ago -

So you would rather keep the animal than put a roof over yours kid(s) head?

If it was me and I couldn't find a house to live in with an animal. That thing would be gone quicker than shhhhhiiiiiii!+++++.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

Who the hell is going to guard my home? I'm not paying ADT anymore for their faulty crap and their outrageous monthly payments. My dogs food is cheaper and my dog will rip a hole in someone. Can ADT do that? Naw. Didn't think so.

Get rid of my dog? Are you f'ing kidding me? Not happening.

I do live in a house that makes me sick. There is black mold growing on the "attic" access panel, and in the air vents. I called AMCC, they sent a maintenance guy out here. He said, "Ah, just mold growing from the moisture in the attic. They wont do nothin about it. Best you can do is spray it with bleach water." Called them about the black mold growing around the window in my youngest son's room. AMCC says "Its just because its so humid here." REALLY?! I grew up on the frickin beach and we never had mold growing in our house!

Fiction --- 12 years ago -

Buy a house. Problem solved.

If you have to relocate, rent that mofo out for a couple hundred over your mortgage payment. Problem solved.

No rental agencies to blame. Problem solved.

You have to clean it yourself. Problem solved.

You can have whatever damn dog you want. Problem solved.

If you're lazy and don't like work, or can't change a light bulb, then yes.

Not sure what your point really was here, the mold part?

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

Yup...older homes sometimes come with their own mold or esbestos issues.

Fiction --- 12 years ago -

Well, just don't be an idiot when buying a home, and pay a little more for your inspection up front, which in turn will end up saving you tons of money in the long run any way.

Yes, that too.

Also. For the record. Not military, 4 kids, a basset/pit mix - living in a rental. :) Moved out of a rental, into this rental. In 2 years, you could have found suitable living conditions.

Certainly you don't think black mold infecting your childrens lungs is safe, right?

That's how you know when people are exaggerating. When they CHOOSE to stay in such "poor conditions".

my dog will rip a hole in someone

There you go, another reason for someone not to allow pets in a rental unit.

The homeowner is ultimately on the hook, in the event a dog bites.

Little Miss Knowitall --- 12 years ago -

Black mold growing IS normal for this area.

Yes, YOU need to clean it with bleach water on a regular basis.

It's not "THE" black mold that will kill you, it's mildew, it's normal.

I clean my windows/sills twice a year on the outside. It's also jet exhaust on the outside sills and NOT mold/mildew.
