May I get your salsa recipe? Please

WooTang (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Im so sorry. I just saw this. I actually dont have specific measurements and just do it to taste, but here is the rough draft of the recipe.

4 large tomatos to 1 onion
A bushel of cilantro (adjust to taste as it can be over powering)
Minced garlic
A cap of white vinegar
Jalapeños (Fresh or jar, but if you use the jar pour some of the juice in for flavor)
Can of diced green chilies
pinch of salt of you like.
The key is to let it sit for a few hours in the fridge so everything can marinate together.
And of course since its such a basic recipe you can add anything to tailor it to your family's taste.

I keep meaning to try to blend this up in a food processor and try it that way, but my little ones gobble it up as is.

Do you mean BUNCH of cilantro and not BUSHEL?

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

Mexicans make that crap fresh and eat it raw with no marination. I nearly died when I tried my mother in laws pica de gallo. Holy crap ball buster! That drained my sinuses quik!

You know what I mean

Another salsa I have been obsessed with it green salsa!

10 jalapeños boiled till tender
1 packet of chicken bullion (obviously dissolved in water)
tablespoon of EVOO
and a little minced garlic
salt to taste

If its too runny add more jalapeños or too thick add more evoo.

Took me a few bites to get on board with this but than I couldnt stop eating it!

It's okay. I read "a cap of vinegar" as a CUP of vinegar. Good thing I didn't have time to do it or it would have come out really vinegary. :)

Since I didn't see a response in time
I ended up with:

3 tomatoes, peeled and seeded, 2 Jalapenos, 1/2 white onion and minced garlic "flash fried" for 10 mins, cilantro, pink himalayan salt.

Put that in the food processor, for a few seconds too long, so I dumped a pint of cherry tomatoes in and pulsed a couple times.

YUMM!

Never heard of this....Whats it all about and whats different from reg salt?

Champ --- 12 years ago -

Think along the lines oh sea salt, but less sodium per serving.
