I spend tons of time doing my makeup! Its fun and it makes me feel good. Hair not so much. I suck at hair. There are some excellent instructional videos on youtube for makeup application. Pinterest also has a plethora of makeup help.
Champ when is your ball? I'm trying to find someone around here to airbrush for the ball this year and would love to hear how yours turns out if it's before mine. I have always done my own hair and for the balls. I'm doing hair but not makeup. My skin has completely changed the past few months and need to hit sephora up for an evaluation and get new stuff.
and yes, I tried primer it didn't seem to affect it much. I'm going to try a cake liner (never used before) and see how that works. I have oily-ish skin, and my eyes always water, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I don't line my lower eyelids because it's so bad, but lining my tops, I still get it underneath drives me absolutely crazy.
Don't you guys get bored going to the Balls? No way!! When I was on active duty it was a great excuse to get my party on and look great in my uniform. And of course celebrate the Marine Corps!! Now as "just a wife" it's a great reason to get my party on and look great doing it!! And celebrate the Marine Corps. I never actually got to watch a ceremony until I got out of the Corps. I was color guard from the time I checked in until I got out. It's pretty awesome stuff!
I do. Depending on how looooooong and booooring the speaches go. I've only experienced one great guest speaker. He was awesome! I'm still waiting on a female guest speaker. Sometimes they drag it out too long. Or witnessed two color guards pass out. One knocked his front tooth out! Lol. We messed with him every year about it.
Also depends on who you sit next to. Knowing the coordinator helps especially when they assign seating.
My daughter went with the hubbs when she was 8. I had to be somewhere else. She hated looking at the cake for over an hour before being able to consume it! Lol
Sometimes it's all in how you make it. Most people bolt to after parties or hotels right after dinner is over.
