Dear People on my friends lists...

Stop sharing all the "if you don't like this or share this you will suffer" crap. If I don't share your picture of the burned baby and a family member dies I will come and kick you butt.

It ticks me off.

Dear Progress Energy- or Duke energy now,

THANK YOU for the inconvenience of a two hour power outage during my shows and while O washing laundry I meed FOR tomorrow. YOU SUCK!!!

Signed,
Angry consumer

Ps. You charge me $45 to reconnect if my bill is late and the power is shut off, dare I ask if youre planning on paying all of these customers since you are at fault for the outage? Yeah, didnt think so

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

I used to love Duke. Not so much progress. Now they are sorta the same. Wonder if Duke will suck soon.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

Haha my water bill is less than two bucks a month. But my bill is $22! All for stupid fees.

RMof2 (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

So in NC you get a monthly water bill? Here in MI we only get a bill every 3 months.. and it's very pricey up here. for the 3 of us it's about $90 every 3 months.

BOOM BOOM BOOM --- 12 years ago -

That would be nice bc there have been times that I forget the small dollar bills. $40 and below that I almost don't pay them on time. I'd love all bills to be that way!

Champ --- 12 years ago -

We pay over $45 in additional fees (not taxes) for our electric every month.

Paid $20 in fees when we had gas ( used always less than $5- only our hotwater heater was gas)

Fees annoy me... a lot!

MusicNote (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

I agree! Our bill is $55 but we end up paying almost 80 for fees and "surcharges"

Champ --- 12 years ago -

Literally just opened this months bill. Our surcharges are based off of kwh used because we live in the "country" its for servicing our electric poles. Used a smidgen less electric this month so its less than what we had in the winter.

Two miles down the road at our last house, no base charge or surcharges!

AnnonyMiss --- 12 years ago -

Thanks Vicky!

Arrgggh!

Holy crap I dont think I've ever seen a TXU bill that was under $300. I'm a little in shock. During the summer, its not a surprise to see my parents light bill around the $400 mark.

Pricey? Are you kidding? Is this a damn joke?

$126 last month alone.

Yep. When I lived there, in an old farm house, my bill would run minimum $350, max$850

Champ --- 12 years ago -

I don't use heat in the winter unless it dips waaaay down. During the summer I have no doubt it will be closer to $350-

But at our last house which was 2300 sq feet we never had a bill over $130, and this house is a lot smaller!

Vicky (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

I have the equal payment plan and pay 117.95 a month for electric all 12 months... but probably will go up this year.... And water averages 68-78 a month but that includes trash pick up.

RMof2 (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Jacky.. you have more people in your household than I do. My Grandma said that water has gone up a lot in the last couple of years around here. She use to pay about $40 every 3 months for 4 people and now for 3 people she is also paying about $90 every 3 months.

NC must charge a lot for everything!! When we lived in a teeny tiny apartment on Shipman.. I remember our electric bill being close to $300 for an apartment that was like 600 or less sqft.

Doesn't anyone open up their windows anymore? I open mine as long as it doesn't get higher than 85 outside. And heat goes on if its 48 or below outside. Even then I use a space heater in the living room when we hang out in there.

dmc21 --- 12 years ago -

we pay about $30/month for water (only, no trash/sewer). There are only 3 of us. We are in Onslow County.

We paid about $60 a month in VA, though, when we also had sewer.
We paid about $12 in VA when it was only water.

It's crazy expensive here, IMO.

Champ --- 12 years ago -

our summer normal temp is 100* Last year I tried to make it until June before I used the a/c. In may it hit 87* in the house, and we had a huge house fan (that you open the windows and it sucks the air in)

This place isn't insulated as good, I assume because it is more affected by the outside temps, and since it's smaller, you turn on the oven and it raises the temp in the house about 5 degrees.

Champ --- 12 years ago -

water is cheap though, should be it tastes like swimming pool water!

$14-20 (and I wash probably 10-14 loads of laundry a week)

RMof2 (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Dear Magic Bullet,

I am so glad that I got you out of one of the boxes in the basement that you had been boxed up for so long 2 weeks ago. It's nice to be able to relax and sip on a protein smoothie while the kids are sleeping and I am watching Tangled instead of being tempted to grabbing the kids ice cream out of the deep freezer.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to make a green smoothie after I go to the produce store and pick up some kale. I have plenty of green apples that need to be used up.

-mmmmm my tummy is a happy one

Little Miss Knowitall --- 12 years ago -

NO, I don't want the green pollen or the black jet fuel exhaust in my house. Bad enough I have to clean it off of everything outside.
