Around 11am yesterday, he was struck in the eye with a baseball.

We've been at the hospital since 10:30pm. His eye socket is fractured & he has a hematoma behind his eye.
It's now 3:50 am and the doc is talking about transfer to Greenville. :-(

Hospital finally releasd him at 4:30am.

No trip to Greenville, but he does need to see an eye doctor. 

Glad it wasn't Greenville worthy! Praying for a speedy recovery with no lasting damage!

That's still subject to change, once the opthamologist does a full exam on Monday.

Of course, he was supposed to follow up today, but none have office hours.
Any changes and we'll be back at the ER.

(He's coaching our 18 yr old in the State Babe Ruth tournament being held here in Havelock.) 

I try. I got hit in the eye by a baseball when I was in high school. Before asking me if I was okay, or anything, my coach came up to me and said "you kept your eye on the ball, that's all I can ask."

It wasn't near as bad as what has happened to your husband, but humor seems to help in situations like this. 

Yowch.. How is he doing today? 

Went to ophthalmologist this morning. He said the eye injury appears to be healing well.

We'll be heading to Greenville tomorrow for an office visit with the oral/maxiofacial doctor to check on the eye/cheek fracture.

Appears the orbital floor didn't break away. Doctor will review the CT Scan and if there is anything that needs re-checking, we'll make another trip to discuss surgery. So for now, it's just going to take time to heal...

Ouch, I feel his pain! Had the same thing happen to me in 8th grade and it nearly detached my retina.
